Cost

This was written with my uncle in mind. What decided that my uncle and he needed to become more intimately acquainted. This short piece was the result.
I won't cry for you
you're not the first one who's gone
I know you're in Heaven
Hope the line's not too long

I cry for our family
'cause our bonds have been severed
I cry 'cause our soon
has turned into never

I won't cry for long
No goodbye is forever
I know that up there
you have beautiful feathers

I may cry a bit
for the chances we've lost
but I won't see you soon
'cause I don't like the cost

Coming Day

I hear dawn whisper on its way
Though I beg mercy, the light is not kind
And I feel my doom in the coming day

In gentle Night’s dying spray,
There is no salvation I can find
I hear dawn whisper on its way

Though secrets burn in their own way,
Harsh Light’s inferno leaves you blind
And I feel my doom in the coming day

I was once an angel’s prey
God’s wrath was vicious and two-tined
I hear dawn whisper on its way

Now God has gone and hell’s to pay
Mayhap the Devil will be kind?
I hear dawn whisper on its way

And I feel my doom in the coming day

The Three Ideas

The Three Ideas, in all of their glory, are the stars of the show here in Eternity. They are the muses, masters, lovers, and tormentors of each and every inhabitant. While they are by no means the only forces that drive us, they are the most predominant( read:pushy). So while we have our quirky little taskmasters duct-taped in one place, lets introduce you to the lords of this particular manor of madness.

Life: He's a cheeky bastard that likes to get in your face. Never content to let us go about our merry ways, he's always ready to throw something new into your path. Sometimes it's a chocolate bar, sometimes it's a rabid squirrel (Fair warning: every squirrel is evil and will do Life's bidding.) If you see him sitting quietly at a table, it's suggested that you prepare for anything and to be very, very afraid just to be on the safe side.

Love: He (Yes, He. We were surprised too.) is a bit odd. One moment he's a doe-eyed darlin', ready and willing to please in any way he can, the next he's a passionate inferno, as likely to burn you as he is to set you ablaze. In spite of the fact that he's also known for boughs of depression, he is the most patient and loyal of the Ideas. His biggest gripe is that most people think of him as a woman. He once walked around naked for a month in a effort to change that. After the third arrest we had What give him a talk ( Life tried to join him in nakedness).

What Happens After: Affectionately called What, he is rather shifty about himself (We tried to call him Heaven and he got really twitchy). We've kind of given up on getting a straight answer out of him. Impressions seem to vary from person to person but he's very sweet to most people.

What You're Getting Into And Other Warnings Along Those Lines...

Eternity And How To Spend It is an ongoing chat about three main ideas: Life, Love, And What Comes After. Usually they will be addressed separately but Life (cheeky little bugger that he is) tends to get a bit messy and poke at the others. Should you dare to venture forth(and we sincerely hope you do), you'll be met with all of the symptoms that The Three Ideas bring: rants, raves, idealistic chatter, poetry ( to be used for good and ill) and sometimes a small glimpse of sanity(though you shouldn't get your hopes up about the last bit).
